Listed below are events that have been suggested by members that we would LOVE to add to the calendar for 2008. The only problem we have is that we need people to host them. Some of them are half way completed and just need you to add the finishing touches. Others are completely open. You set the date, time, and depending on the event, location. We can help you with the planning, so don't be intimidated if you have never hosted an event. Remember, this club is only as good as you guys make it. If you would like to host one of these events, let one of the officers know and we will gladly help you get started. If you have more ideas for us to add to the list, please let us know and we will post them too.

Hump Day - We need people to host the various Hump Days throughout the summer. These are simple. We meet up for desert somewhere on the 2nd Wed. of every month from May through September. You can just do 1, or all if you would like.

Tailgate - These are very similar to the Hump Days. We meet on the 3rd Friday of every month (May through September) for dinner at a local restraunt. Just like with the Hump Days, you can do 1 or all of them. As of right now, they are all available. See the events calendar for the dates.

|
Movie Night - It was suggested that we all meet up somewhere and drive together to the drive in theatre in Valpo to catch a movie (weather permitting obviously) with the tops down. You pick the day and the movie. We can do this once, or more than once.

|
South Bend Chocolate Co. - Allegedly, they have a Chocolate fountain buffet on Friday nights. Sound interesting? Adopt this one and lead us to Choctopia.

|
Post Tax Blues Rally - This is an event we do with the Indy Miata club every year. We need someone to represent our 1/2 of the alliance. The date is set for April 21. Planning starts in Feb. or Mar. and you will have to drive the route 2-3 times to make sure it is good as well as accurate. This is one of our best events.

Tire Rack - We have one of the nation's biggest and well known tire distributers right in our back yard. We would love to have a tour arranged to see what goes on behind the scenes.

|
Valpo Fridays - Every Friday night during the summer, there is a large, informal car show in Valpo. Let's get together and cruise in as a group and check out the local scene. This seems to be getting larger and larger every year, so lets get in there and strut our stuff.

Survivor Rally - We could tell you more about this, but then we'd have to kill you. Or at least, give you a mild indian burn. Jim Johnson has a great idea for this rally, but we don't want to ruin the surprise for the general membership.

|
Jasper Motors - We have a connection who can set us up with a tour of the factory where they make Jasper Motors. It sounds like there is a road on the way that was made with the Miata in mind. This would more than likely be an overnighter, but that is up to you.

|
Lincon Tomb - Like the Jasper trip, this could either be a long day trip, or an overnighter. Lead the group over to Springfield, IL and check out the place where Honest Abe is laid to rest.

|
Motorcycle Museum - I don't know the name of the place exactly, but it was suggested that we go and see the motorcycle museum in North Judson, IN. This sounds like those of us who are "open air" enthusiasts would enjoy.

Once again, if you have anything you would like to add or subtract from this list, please let one of the officers know, so we can get it on the calendar or add it to the list.
